Recommended QOS (Bandwidth Limiting) Router for O2 please.

Anyone with a good recommendation for a 3rd party router for use with O2?

I'd like one with a decent QOS for limiting bandwidth (2 PS3's, a 360 and PCs in use all the time).

I've had a look through various sites but none seem to recommend a good QOS router.

    Appreciated

    Cheers.

for things like this I would advise a nix based router like m0n0wall or pfSense you can really get the bandwidth split up properly with Layer 7 traffic shaping and monitor it all no problems

Thanks Jay..looks pretty complicated..i'm really just after a decent O2 compatible router with QOS..i have one..a Zoom X6 but that only gives me half my available bandwidth.
Still looking around for a suitable one

Another vote for m0n0wall or pfSense.

I use m0n0 on an tiny 5-watt Alix 2C3 and it's great - it does my firewalling, NAT, DHCP, QoS (and other stuff I can't remember) all in one tiny red 3-NIC box.

pfSense is also good, but m0n0 is leaner. pf is nice on bigger HDD-based installs as the packaging system is nice, but using a Compact Flash card is much nicer for a router.

Here is a screenshot of part of my QoS setup:

You could check out Draytek routers such as the 2820/2820n, which are highly regarded here although not exactly bargain basement (see the "How much would you consider spending on a good router?" thread).

They use an Infineon chipset unlike some of the Broadcom-based alternatives which are recommended for full compatibility with Be/02's DSLAMs, so you *may* end up with a slightly lower sync speed (although some people on the Be user forum suggest it isn't a problem in practice).

Thanks...those Draytek routers looks great..but expensive as you say..i'm struggling along with the O2 router and now trying the Zoom X6 again but i'm sure a different router will be on it's way here soon when i've lost patience.
    Thanks for the tips, Roo
