    I need Help for setting up LAN gaming!

    Ok I have two comps (laptop and pc) and they are both sharing an internet conn using a crossover cable. I will soon (fingers crossed) be setting up a wireless conn to using usb adapter.

    Anyways, how the hell do I go about setting up a LAN multiplayer!!??
    Do I need to type in ip address of both comps? DO I need to install anything else? Mylap top has near enough everything to connect up(wireless, broadcom lan...) and I figured if I can make them both share the net, I can sort this thing out.

    So please any help would be appreciated!

    Cheers

    LAN multiplayer should be no problem if you've got internet connection sharing working. They should just see each other.

    Perhaps you need to add the IPC protocol for each network connection as some games use that instead of TCP/IP.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    I think I know what you mean.

    If you want to play each other thats simple.

    Make sure both PC's have the same game eg Call of Duty. Start COD on one OC and choose multiplayer then choose something like Start new server where you define what game,map etc then start that going on one pC.
    On the other PC start multiplayer then join game choose LAN and the game you set up on the other PC thenyou should see that server click join and there you go.

    Similair procedure with most new games.

    The problems start when you both want to play the same game online at the same time it is usually possible to play differant servers of the same game but not the same server at the same time due to both PC's having the same IP address.

    If anyone knows how to crack that one (I'm also using a router in my LAN) would I be glad to hear it!!!!
