    Help Setting Up Qos

    hey guys,
I was looking to replace my current wrt54gs linksys router with an n router because I can't stream dvd's or live tv over my network without stuttering. However the other day it was working perfect and that's when I realised that its not my router but the network traffic is stopping it from streaming properly. I just had a go at setting up QOS on the router for mediaportal but it didn't seem to make any difference, maybe I'm doing it wrong? I used an app called currport (found it with a quick google) to find the ports mediaportal was using. Mediaportal uses the rtsp protocol and according to the app it was using local port 49283 and remote port 554. The pc I'm streaming from is using a wired connection and the pc I'm streaming to is over wireless, dunno if that poses a problem. Anyways I've posted a quick screen of the Qos page and how I set it up but tbh I didn't have a clue what I was doing. Hopefully someone can have a look and help me out. Thanks.
Btw if someone knows how to get the image to be a thumbnail and then show in a new tab when you click it please enlighten me. This looks ridiculous lol.

    Re: Help Setting Up Qos

I am assuming you need to enter a figure for the upstream bandwidth so that QOS knows what the value that needs divided is and based on that value probably reserve a high percentage for high priority traffic.

Give that a try see how it goes.

It may be your wirelss devices causing the problem. NB that the help on the right says that enabling WMM will help if your OTHER wireless devices are also WMM compliant.

    Re: Help Setting Up Qos

I entered the upload speed and set it to auto. See how thats goes. I'm pretty sure my wireless adapter is wmm compliant.
