Monitoring download levels between multiple pc's

It's easy to monitor download levels on a pc to pc basis, but can you do it per connection rather than pc?

I have a download limit of 3gb a day. Doubt I ever get that near it(apart from when I downloaded the windows 7 test builds last year), but I want to try and find out how close I get. This is because I want to start using on demand video services(like iplayer), but with a HD 30 min program coming out at about 1.5gb, I need to know what my overall limit is.

Currently, I have about 7 devices that can access the net(2 pc's, 3 laptops, squeezebox and my mobile if I use wi-fi), so it's difficult to monitor overall usage.

Can anyone suggest a way to monitor the downloads/uploads for my broadband connection, rather than per PC?
I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.

Your router stats can do this for...

    Code:
    Type:	ETHoA

    Uptime:	0 days, 6:14:19

    IP Address:	</no chance>

    Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [MB/MB]:	57.27 / 344.55

I think unless your router supports SNMP you can't do this...software can get this data via SNMP or like the above you're router may, if its a decent one give the information you require.

If not then you will need to install software such as DuMeter on each PC.

This cheap Netgear DG834G only shows the following for stats:

    System Up Time 748:53:41
Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
    WAN PPPoA 9059631 11541402 0 728 922 677:33:53

    WLAN 11M/54M 5607222 5450198 0 84 1023 748:53:26

    ADSL Link Downstream Upstream

Re: Monitoring download levels between multiple pc's

Probably not what you are after but i have a linux box acting as a router connected to my cable modem so all traffic goes through that. I have vnstat running on there, which easily keeps track of traffic over the wan interface..
