    Windows 7 64-bit & Edimax EW-7128G

Hi, wanted to double-check if this wireless PCI card is OK with Windows 7 x64, I'm replacing an old PCI wifi card in someone's computer over Easter who's on Windows 7 x64 now and their current card doesn't work.

Tried a Maplin "Micronet" one last weekend to no joy (only place open on a Sunday).

So I've just had one of these Edimax one's delivered today, I've got the latest Windows 7 drivers from their US downloads site, and the drivers off the EU Edimax site.

However, when looking for a PCI card that's not "N" mode, choice is a bit limited and Googling this card seems to have mixed reports of success (reports of lockups eg newegg).

So... just wondering if anyone's got one working OK with Windows 7 64-bit?

Yes. I have this card and it's working perfectly.

In the win7 RC I think I had to install XP drivers from the driver CD that comes with the card at first, to get it to recognise the card, but once this was done windows automatically pulled down the correct win7 64 drivers. In the retail version of win7 I can't remember if I had to do this or not, but keep your CD handy in case.

I am using the drivers that windows 7 pulled down though (and updates automatically), not those from edimax directly.

    Excellent, ta!

I'll lug the PC next to the router and use ethernet after installing the card, hopefully that should do it.
