The FUP was brought in sometime this year IIRC. I confirmed with O2 myself that if you signed up with no FUP, you have no FUP. If they'll stick to it though or try and change that later is anyones guess. They also told me that they do not use the FUP for the LLU packages (currently), but this was a few months back - it may have changed. I was worried because 4 of us use the net and I don't want the worry of watching bandwidth.

O2 do disconnect people on the none LLU package though: http://www.ispreview.co.uk/story/201...f-threats.html but I've not seen a case on the LLU one (would be interesting if this was the case!)

Re: Just Had My O2 Broadband Cancelled???

As you've guessed guys, i'm on the non LLU package...been waiting for them to upgrade the exchange as i have my phone with them so would of got the cheap ADSL, hasn't happened though in what, two years?. Guess i shouldn't of bought so many of the games advertised in hexus.bargains on Steam for the kids this school hols

P.S. So who do i go to for my ADSL now?, looking on samknows it states Sky and TalkTalk are LLU'd on my exchange, but when i query the Sky broadband checker, it tells me i have to have the slower, capped, dearer option?.

    I got the other answer.

Since inception O2 have a fup that they can change at anytime (without notice).

It just happens to be empty now.

Mine accepts WPA/WPA2 as well. I've swapped them out, though the only issue I had with them after a few months of use was the wireless performance which for some reason drops almost 3-5 Mbit compared to wired.

Re: Just Had My O2 Broadband Cancelled???

Plusnet is who i use, if you're limited to adsl only, you will most likely be in the worst zones, so less competition and higher prices...

Plusnet seem to be the new bethere, their customer service is friendly and their website is very similar to what bethere used to be. You can also choose to be on a monthly contract, or a 12 month contract (which is short compared to most) - they have a good offer on at the moment, see the moneysavingexpert link below [plusnet offer - mse]
I have also considered orange, as I am an orange customer, I could get their home ultra package for £21 for phone line and broadband (inc a 2nd line [voip])
    Other options are:
    Post office
Primus, who do cheap line rental
    BT (don't do it!)

Have a look here for some good advice:

Re: Just Had My O2 Broadband Cancelled???

In this age of Digital Distribution, I can't see how limiting "unlimited" packages to ~10GB is right.

A Single Steam Game can be around 10GB, Film ~700MB, HD Film 2GB+. Etc Etc

A "Fair usage policy" should be just that, if you're taking the wee wee and maxing out the connection 24/7 that wouldn't be "Fair Usage" IMO, but I would say downloading a couple of games, a few films, a month etc, would be totally fair for an "unlimited" package, but seems to contravene "Fair Usage Policies"

They seem like Unfair "Fair Usage Policies" to me.

Referring to O2, their LLU packages are realistically unlimited with regards to bandwidth, but its always known that the Access package has more stricter monitoring.

But otherwise yes, it always irks me to see "unlimited" yet there happens to be a usage limit or traffic management or throttling.

Also the ASA does not consider information on a companies web site "advertising", so companies can say what they like there. Looks the narks and niggles have appeared.

I was threatened with this - but I received letters warning me of this. As others have said, you should also have received such warnings. Did you leave your router open?

I have never been threatened or heard anything from Virgin Media. I am on the 50MB package and probably pull about 20-40gb a day at least.

Then again im paying out the arse.

If your exchange is LLU enabled for Be/O2 then you will almost certainly be on the LLU network.
