    There is an engineer option at install time, you can get it done for free if you just tell them you don't have an active phone line yet and you just moved in... The technician normally does it for free. Don't know what difference it makes.

    i didnt know about the 'no phone line' option. didnt really think about it, cos i had a phone line....

    right - here is the latest findings:

    * have unplugged everything (alarm and adsl), just had sky and phone connected - same issue.
    * have taken an extension lead to the master socket, plugged sky and phone in there - same thing (with and without filter)
    * have double filtered the sky connection

    would the extra handsets on the phone increase the ren? even though the only physical connection is the main base unit?

    although, i may just leave the sky unplugged - but, thats not the point.....

    If you've got a wireless base unit phone, with 1/2/3 others that you just plug straight into the power socket, then no, that shouldn't count as additional ren
