My card was PCMCIA so not much good for your desktops!!!

Any that are 11g compatible should be compatible with the 3com router.

http://www.x-micro.com/wlan-11g-pcmcia.htm was the one I had, I got a new laptop with onboard wireless though so I didn't need it anymore.

If CPBB aren't supplying hardware, I wouldn't have thought that they'd supply a splitter.

Just found these on ebuyer, look quite good??

i went for the netgear stuff, expensive i know but i have owned netgear routers before and never had any problems. its always best to get the same manufacturer of cards and routers too - there **shouldnt** be any issues with compatability but the chances are reduced if you keep to the same manufacturer

Well.. just got my new US Robotics 9106 ADSL router up and running.. in under a minute.

Very easy indeed and a quick check on ShieldsUp! (www.grc.com) tells me that its secure to the MAX!

No more randomly dropped connections whilst using a PCI modem (which, were, incidently caused by my Audigy 2 hogging the PCI bus.. but thats another story!)... happy days..

    cheers.

I got the USR 5410 PC card with it but haven't actually had the chance to use it because I don't have a laptop yet!

Will post some results if/when I get to try it.

    cheers,
    dave

I considered the Netgear but was put off by the volume of bad reports on forums and the frequency of software updates.

Save yourself some money and get the bundle that I got - http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=59165

You get one free card for the same price as the Netgear router alone.

    cheers,
    dave

I can vouch for netgear, get great range with my kit - its easily 60ft to my room from the router, and thats going up 2 floors and 4 walls [granted they are plasterboard walls tho]
    i get a full 54mb signal

same with the laptop too =)

the kit i have is the netgear ADSL modem/router/switch/firewall/wAP , the WG511 PC card for my lappy and the WG311 PCI card for me PC. Pricey but worth the extra imho
