    I assume because you are thinking of Dyndns your servers at home are not a a static IP address, because if they are (on a static ip) you might as well roll your own DNS it is one of the easiest things to do. To get a secondary all you need to do is swap with a friend.

    Yes oolon I'm on VM cable so use my router to update DynDNS. Their $30/year solutions lets the router automatically update the dns entry if the IP changes (unlikely in my experience, had about 3 in 13 years) whereas I have to head to UK2 to update the A record at present if my IP should change.

    However, Vidahost are offering free nameserver and DNS control with domain hosting which is attractive price wise.

    Oh decisions decisions.
