Set me up with a wireless lan...

hi all,

I want to setup a wireless lan in my house, so I can wander around with a PDA and still access music / internet or whatever from my main PC.

My Main PC is a SB151G Shuttle, the PDA will be using a SD card to connect to the shuttle, and I would also need the ability to expand and add other Pc's to the setup.

How would I get this all setup?

If you can provide links so I can weigh up cost issues that'd be great.

Depends if you want to extend the network to any other systems.

If it's just the pda and the shuttle, then I'd get a wireless card to go in the shuttle and jsut make sure it's switched on all the time.

If you want to switch your system off and still be able to access the internet using the pda, you should get a broadand modem/wireless router (presuming you have broadband - otherwise I think X-Micro do a wireless 56K modem, although it may be bluetooth rather than g)

You could probably get away with expansion without a router - but I've no experience of it and it might get a little messy windows classes it as an ad-hoc network, but I don't know whta that entails.

I can recommend the 3com wireless broadband router - got mine from ebuyer.
