well all, I read this thread 2 days ago, thought shoot, glad I'm not him. my 50mb connection has been great for over a year. Hitting 35mb on wireless, 45mb on LAN. Until this weekend that is. Everything went eratic. Now I'm pulling in between 0 and 20mb occasionally, but not stable, and check out this bad-boy:

Yes that's less than 1mb download with an upload of 4mb - so my connection can handle more, it's just choosing not to. Why is that? Well according to the technical support team cables in the area have been damaged. 223 people are affected. They are rerouting signal (but yet my ping hasn't changed) and this "high utilisation" means my speed has dropped.

Get this -they will "text me once the repair is complete" but this may take until wait for it..... JANUARY 7th. WTF??????

According to the tech support guy I won't have to pay for the days I don't get service. Now why do I think that's not going to materialise.
