Well I did as suggested and that appears to be the problem. Set to my DNS values and worked for a week no problems then changed back to automatic assignment and problem returned a day later, needless to say gone back to me assigning values.
You guys are so clever many many thanks

    Re: Internet problem

Bear in mind that you'll have to make this change for any PC (or device) that connects to the router this way though. If it supports it, it would be a more elegant solution to change the DNS settings on the router itself - that way you can leave each machine to acquire DNS settings automatically and the router will hand out correct IPs.
Which ISP are you with incidentally?
There are guides available on how to update common router models on the OpenDNS website here
    Hope that helps!

    Re: Internet problem

    Hi

I'm with Plusnet and believe the correct router settings, for automatic IP addressing are, primary 121.159.6.9 and secondary 212.159.6.10
I will give these a go at sometime in the near future out of interest. For now I'm just happy everthing is working, apart from not being able to stream music from my PC to my interent radio.
