Before and After : Infinity (via Zen)

Slightly grumpy with Zen. After getting an e-mail saying I was getting an upgrade on the ninth, nothing happened. I restarted the modem to re-sync the line and the speed dropped from 26Mb/s to 20. Rebooted again and it dropped to 14! Did another reboot and it went back to 20.

Called Zen who said that as the speed was above 15, it wasn't a fault (on installation, I was getting 30) and that the e-mail should have said that the upgrade was being done in batches, and it should take place this week.

I wait with interest.

(On the other hand, it is still 10 times faster than I was getting with ADSL, and the upload speed is faster)

ok.. my update now.

Got hold of them today, lines were clear, straight through to TOP bod who was concise.... my regrade has not been done on time, BT let them down on something and they're doing themn, as you said, in batches.

I'm due completion tomorrow.

Interesting Zak, I'm on the plusnet 80/20 trial and I rarely get above 40mbps. That said, I've used the bt speed tester and that reckons my download profile is only 46mbps anyway, so it looks like I'm too far from the cabinet to get much more than that. Going to be a kicker if plusnet don't offer a 40/10 package though - really don't want to be restricted to a 2mbps upload...

Scaryjim - guess it is how plusnet market it. Basically they are re-selling BT's technology.

Hmm, my download speed dropped again today, but it seems that there is a line problem, which is being investigated (at last) so I wait in anticipation!
