Friends over with their laptops/PC. I’m mean actual online gameplay, not LAN parties that are only between us 4.

Could be completly down to where you live whether your area's local Virgin network is over-subscribed. Has this ever been checked with Virgin on your end? I see a lot of complaints online and it being down to the virgin network being oversubscribed in their area (particularly down south) and usually Virgin acknowledge there is an oversubscription issue but can't/won't do much about it. I had raised this with Virgin in case it was what was causing my issues but they said it was no where near their top end of capacity, was after this I started switching out the router. I’m in a fairly quiet area in Scotland and my area will have nowhere near the number of subscribers/connections going through the local virgin breakout vs a highly-populated town/city.

No, I'm talking about the BS puma6 chipset issues:

Thanks for those links, haven't came across that before so some interesting reading there. Will need to look into a bit more. I must just be lucky just now then that I haven't been effected.

You might have, but you might have chalked it down to bad luck. See this article - lag at the wrong moment = dead before you spawn, or losing the hand-to-hand, not seeing the grenade etc. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2016/12..._firmware_fix/
