    Question USB wireless networking??

I'm about to build a new pc, and the only thing i haven't sorted yet is networking.
It will need to join to a wireless network, and during a bit of searching I stumbled upon the usb pen-type network devices.

I need to know if connection signal, speed, etc. will suffer compared to a standard PCI card?
and what could I get for around the £20-25 mark?

Also, would it be worth the extra cash going for 108MB rather than 54MB if i'm only on standard BT ADSL broadband?
[Oh, and the router is just some random make, nothing special]

    Any help/advice appreciated!!!

    Ah, cheers.
Good use of the "word" dongle. I like it.

    Any recommendations on brand?
    Belkin?
    Netgear?
    Linksys? etc.

Taking into account I'd rather not spend my life savings on one.

    I'm currently looking at:

Dlink 54g PCI Bus 802.11g wireless adapter - £27.94 inc. VAT

    Considering it's a 108mbs card, it seems a bargain.

I originally bought one of those, but had major compatibility issues with my machine (although it was just my machine as it worked in another rig).

I changed to a Netgear card and its been great since. This is on a DLink router too
