I'm getting the hub 4 next week, will be good to give that a try. Although I just them in modem mode so not expecting too much difference, apart from top line speed.

Maybe Virgin Media would be the best people to ask if you want details about what's in their firmware updates?

that's a good one! Have you ever tried getting firmware release notes out of them? It's met with "we don't give that out", "what are those", "not my department", "no-one's ever asked for that", and loop round depending on who you get passed to. They basically won't give them out because it would make things awkward given how much they've tried to deny there was a serious issue for so long.
