I have two computers one runs 2000 and the other xp. My 2000 pc has the broadband and as as a result the wireless router is connected to this. The network works fine, i share internet. But how can i set up a home network and share files etc on 2000, network setup for 2000 has no wirless. What can i do?

Your using an internal or usb modem in your 2k PC?

netgear ethernet modem and router, DG834G. But the physical connection isnt the problem, its the fact you cant create network for sharing files etc on 2k with wirless.
nil i think your a bit confused.
XP introduced zero config for wireless adaptors (as the standard wasn't around when 2k was made).
in 2k, wireless adaptors are presented as "physical" adaptors. As such it makes no difference to 2k for file sharing.
you might be finding that you've got "simple file sharing" enabled on the XP machine. to do this in explorer goto
tools -> Folder Options -> View
then uncheck use simple filesharing.
