Im after a cheap one for my parents as well, where did you see the £12 one?
£12 is lower than iæve heard of, i doubt you'll get less than that. If speed isnæt an issue then what about one of the 0800 dial up tarrifs?
it turned out to be one of those ones that start cheap and get expesnnive

I doubt you'll find ADSL cheaper than that as BT charge the ISP around £10 per month.
Also the cheaper ISPs charge a ~£60 setup fee so you might be better off going for a slightly more expensive ISP with free setup (e.g. PlusNet)
Just so you know, PlusNet's free setup is just offset... If you leave their service, you still have to pay activation and for any hardware they gave you. That's within the first twelve months. After that, the amount to pay gets smaller. Not sure by how much... It then gets progressively less, until it's removed altogethor. I think this is after 4 years...
Just checked - its FIVE years!!
I thought there might be a catch but 5 years is ridiculus!
14.99 month contract good service imo.

Ah yes, I knew it was pretty hefty >.<Originally Posted by peterb
Thing is, most budget ISP's (AFAIK) are offering free setup, in order to compete... But for most, it isn't free (in the same way PlusNet's isn't)...
Oh, and you still have to pay upfront somewhere in the region of £22 for delivery O_o (and then £15 for your first month, once line is active)
How's £10/month sound? https://www.e7broadband.com/
£10/month is for the 512kb service, unlimited, for 12 months or more (free connection with 24 month contract), with higher prices for higher speeds or a 6 month minimum contract period.

Try PAYG ADSL

They charge 11.75 for 400 mb of data,
0.235p for a meg of data until 5 gigs where it caps at 22.75
Thats the best solution imo.
cool i'll sujest it to her but i think shes decided to go with tiscali but they are cheap

Tiscali really aren't worth it. I'd say go for dial-up for £12 tbh if she doesn't care about speed. At least it'll work when she wants it to.
