What kind of modems do blueyonder supply nowadays

Basically, Currently using BT YAHOO adsl and running the home network through a Netgear DG834, i wake up this morning to find that my mum has had Telewest blueyonder out and arranged for us to be switched over (due to BT line being Poo and connection dropping all the time)

So i was wondering what kind of Cable modem they supply as standard, and more importantly what kind of connections USB? LAN? Multiple LAN for routing?

Have looked at the Telewest site briefly but couldnt see anything

Ask them for a LAN connection, if they try and palm you off with a USB tell em you don't want it due to poor performance. A lot of people got the usb one and are now up in arms about them. Ask them for the motorola 5100 Surfboard.

One mate of mine got Blueyonder installed about 5 months ago, and has a little black modem which can use USB or LAN connections.

Another mates modem broke and they've replaced it with one of the little black ones aswell so im assuming that one.

i have 5100 surfboard, no real problems tbh. just make sure to reset every 2 or 3 months

Although I suppose with the new 10mbit connections, serious addiction could be a problem

I have a Surfboard 5100 (for about 15 months now) and it's been AOK. Just one instance of turning off on its own (although that may have been an errant foot...)

Cheers guys, yeah my mate has one that looks a lot like the 5100 (i know it's connected via lan at least, so assume it is the same one) He had a usb one before but changed it due to problems. just wondered what they send out as standard, i'll just have to make sure i ask for a 5100 either before or when they install.
