Online gaming my friend, some games drink bandwidth also if lots of people are using the same connection the problem gets worse, luckily I'm uncapped!

Think of a typical family home, and a 20gb cap, which is what BT currently give on their second highest plan

4 Family Members - Mum Dad Son Daughter

Your telling me, that in a months browsing, they are not going to use about 5gb - or more likely the children will use roughly 7.5gb each, parents share 5

That can be accomplised by streaming music (internet radio) or by parents working from home - sending emails with attachments etc. You don't have to be heavy users to go over the small bandwidth restrictions.

This month, with 2 children and two adults and some very significant OS downloads and upgrades, radio streaming about 6 hours a day - I'll be surprised to exceed 15Gb - and that is exceptional. Obviously if I downloaded video, that would go up, but I guess that my monthly aerage is under 10Gb/month.

Zen state that 80% of their home customers use less than 20GB/month, which is where they have placed their first price break on the new services - the other price break is at 50GB/month. You can still download at the same speed over and above that, but you will pay for each GB over that limit.
