I will take a look when I get home, I am pretty certain it is not supported 'out of the box' on mine though and I will need to do something to it.

It is a V3, any info on how to get this swapped with my sky router would be appreciated.

DNS doesn't work if left set to router (192....) and I have to manually put in virginmedia's DNS settings on my PCs to get to certain sites.

Also a friend has been testing all wireless routers, and has had 3 netgear routers all doing the same thing... the other routers haven't.

I've been thinking about switching to a Homeplug networking solution:
    Broadbandbuyer.co.uk | HomePlug AV

... or going back to Linksys
As an update: The other problems I can live with as the router has been pretty much reliable with all my XP machines - even the wireless ones - but the Vista wireless connection has been nothing but trouble so I'm wiping it and going back to Windows XP. Hopefully many years from now Vista will be okay to use... but for now... I just can't be bothered with it

Re: Netgear Router keeps dropping connection

I have these same problems with my Netgear DG834GT which drives me round the bend.

It's interesting to know about the chip problem with varying SNR.

These are the current stats from my router. The only one that seems to vary is the downstream noise margin which ranges from 20db to 17db.

Are these values pretty normal or do they indicate that I have SNR problems?

    Code:
    ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 8127 kbps 1019 kbps
Line Attenuation 22.5 db 11.9 db
Noise Margin 17.3 db 10.2 db
    Thanks

Re: Netgear Router keeps dropping connection

I'm having a similar problem but it is a wired netgear router. I would have to restart the router each time it disconnects. Its seems to be happening alot when I download a huge file.

Re: Netgear Router keeps dropping connection

I am having the same issue with my Netgear DGN2000. It drops connection or randomly stops.

I went against my better judgement and went for Netgear for the 1st time in my life from a Draytek. What a load of crap.

It can't handle both wired and wireless connection. One slows down a bit.
