    Wireless stopped working..any ideas?

on monday, my laptop dropped the broadband connection completely. it was connected through an MSI wireless router and NTL cable modem. it suddenly lost all connection and wouldnt reconnect, even with a wired cable. anyway, after contacting NTL support, they re-sent the signal to the modem (or something to that effect) and i reset the winsock, but i did this while the router wasnt connected, and the laptop was connected to the modem by a normal ethernet cable. now, the laptop will connect fine to the internet when using the ethernet cable to the router and then from the router into the modem, but i cant seem to get it to connect wirelessly at all now. im not sure if the router is broken, or its some setting on the laptop that needs fixing.

i have tried turning the router off for a few hours and unplugging it at the mains. i have reset it to factory defaults, and the laptop still isnt even seeing it.

im stuck, can anyone help please

    thanks.

press the reset button on the router and go into the configuration menu on the router and make sure the wireless is turned on and make sure the wireless switch on you laptop has not been budged by accident if all else fails go looking for other wireless lans if you can connect to them it is your router and it might have had it

    good luck

    just managed to sort this.

it was the router, for some reason it wasnt resetting properly, so i reset it while it was on, then while it was off, and then twice again while it was on, powered it off, then back on, another reset and it connected. weird.

    thanks for the replies
