My 2mb was regraded last Friday to 8mb. It has not yet disconnected or changed speed at all. The download speed however has stayed the same as 2mb, but I'm told it will go up on Monday. So my experience has been totally positive so far

Your all forgetting, you WILL have an unstable connection for the first 10/15 days minimum. The first 10 days are so BT can see your best stable rate. After the 10 days or so, BT cap your line to a certain level and set a fault threshold. If your line falls below the threshold then it automatically flags this to BT engineers who then look into this for you

After the 10/15 days, you should have a stable line/rate which rarely fluctuates

tbh for the first ten days of having max I suffered from eratic speeds!, 1 minute i had dial-up speeds and the next i had about 7meg it seems to have calmed down now with no disconnections, overall im very happy as the eratic speeds were expected for the first ten days.

I've been switched over today - and although the actual download speeds have been lower (probably due to contention), I'm connected at the maximum 8mb

Just had a quick game of CS:S, and my ping has been cut in half from an average of 23-24 to an average of 10-15, rarely higher. Admittedly, early days, but so far I'm impressed

Ah the wonders, of which there are very few, of NTL My 10mb upgrade was complete by merely rebooting my router and modem

Makes me consider moving to a nearby city which has cable - would be an easier life.
