    Moving house with BE

Right, I'm moving house next week and I need to move my broadband connection. How hard can it be? Well I just got this email from BE customer services.

Hi Nicholas, Thank you for contacting us. As of now, moving facility is not available. You will need to cancel your existing account by sending an E-mail to cancellations@beunlimited.co.uk requesting cancellation and specifying that you will be moving house. After your account has been cancelled you will be able to place another order from your new premises. We will be charging you for the re-connection fee which is £24. We will charge you £50 for express cancellation but that amount will be refunded once you place another order with us. If you have any more queries, please contact us. Kind regards, Paul

To be honest, thats a lot better than most ISPs
You get the £50 back, and the connection fee is understandable, imo

That's a good fee in all honesty.

The fee's are cheap compared to other ISP's who would have made you pay more.

I'm thinking of moving from Zen - Hummm

Is anyone with BE there already, I want to know if they have a true no capped policy. I've read the web site etc stating they have no fair usage policy etc but have found from previous experience of Plus net ( Grrrrrr ) etc they can change their mind and start to limit your downloads.

With Zen on 1Mb at the mo and I can download as much as I want ( around 200Gb per month) but need ADSL 2 to get higher speeds due to my line length.

seriously nick that really isn't bad at all.

£24 fee, considering the work that has to be done is great. They give you the £50 back when you prove by signing up again, your not conning them. I've been seriously thinking of using BE, and ironicaly your complaint is really making the deal look sweeter!

    Nick,

That seriously has other people have stated is a great deal...

I just had to transfer my UKOnline account from one address to another, cheeky buggars wanted £75.00 just to move the account, think I shall in all honesty think of cancelling with them and going with BE when its available on my exchange, subject to checking them out first

I am also very happy with Be*, Nick was one of my referrals (so we both got a free month). Currently, Be* are offering a deal of the same service but £20 a month. This is only until friday.

Nope, I have hit 60gb in two days, however even then did not go over 85gb downloaded in the month. Have never and will never go over that as even that is ridiculous IMHO.

Just signed up to BE as it has just gone live in Bolton, should BE there in 2 weeks(ish). Looking forward to it.

£24 seems a really fair price for that amount of admin that is involved really.

I have had great speeds with them. I get double what I did when I was with Bulldog last month

I would tell anyone to signup, the customer service is also really good. I got a text from them today saying my support ticket has been answered

Their phone support is based in India and is awful, they are currently training a new support centre that will hopefully go live in a fortnight (they say). This will be much better and solve nearly all support/sales/CS/TS problems. The BE* forums are often a good place to get a problem resolved as they are sometimes visited by the CS manager and a couple of others.

If you do decide to go for Be*, it may be worth doing it before friday (as before friday the service only costs £20 a month which is an absolute steal!!! - use sign up code EXCHANGE100). I agree the CS is the biggest problem with Be* but it is already being resolved.

If you sign up, use a current Be* members email address to get a free month (in addition to the cheaper fees and the free activation provided by the EXCHANGE100 code). Like me :-)

    Re: Moving house with BE

As has been said, it's a pretty painless process. I did it 8 or 9 months ago, and had to jog them about refunding my cash, but it was super smooth, and my service was live a few days after requesting it.

As far caps, yeah, there are none. I've transferred alot of data, both up and down, in any given month, and have had no backlash from them at all.
