Registering suspended Domains.

OK there is a domain I want which had to be renewed in march of this year.
It says "This registration has been SUSPENDED", but the persons name and address are still on there. Am I able to register this domain or if there another step in the process?

Nominets site is next to useless and doesnt give a clear answer. Its been at least 60 days since it was supposed to be renewed, which is time they say it takes to become available again. Should I just try and get it?

Also another question DO I HAVE to give my name for registration? which would appear on the whois thing. As I dont want any personal info on it. Could I use a company or organisation name instead? like say a sports club name?

I would suggest that you phone nominet, they are quite helpful normally. The whois thing has changed and you are legally required to provide information now (or at least I think that was the way it went).

With .UK domains you can "hide" your whois information, check with the ISP you used to get the domain from, 123-reg.co.uk is good.

Dont buy from Nominet they charge an arm and a leg

I think I may fire off an email to nomiet and see what they say. Someone I know had a
domain they didnt renew in january which still has his details and just says suspended.
They should make it more simple.

Has anyone tried to register a suspended one?
