grrrrrrrrrr i'm a bit annoyed, the students before us failed to cancel the broadband and they have royally messed it up for us (tries not to swear)

therefore there was braodband still active on the line, hence a tag, so BT is having to force it off the line and will take about 20/30 days before we can eventually get broadband!!

    lol

Thats sounds like a great deal, and it doesnt require BT? or do i still have to pay the £10.50/mo to BT on top?

    Is it a reliable service?

Ok, we're defonatly looking very much at going with the fredom2surf package.
    - I seams to offer a lot for the price, and the house already has a paid for phoneline, and we already have someone with a wirless ADSL router.

Freedom2surf Cascade Plus "Ideal for power users"
50GB transfer allowance, unmetered 1till6am, £1 per gb over, £6 to boost to 100gb should we find we need it later.
    20, 200MB f2s.com e-mail addresses, and 200MB of f2s.com webspace
Up to 8Mb download speeds - Only £23.99 per month. Miniamum contract 3months (6months for free setup)
    - So bearing mind we already have the router, TCO for nine months is £215.91, £43.182 per person for the 9months (£5 per person per month)

I havnt heard anything about there service or lack of. So im assuiming no news is good nows?

f2s have always been on my high list, but i did notice a few complaints a few months back but it all seems like they have gone back to normal ...

the contract length thing is a bonus

    Humm.
    - Still not that bad tho, there still rated above the consderable majority of providers.
    - The only people who seam to reliably get better rating, and really quite a lot better ratings, are Zen.

Which makes me think "so, why not go with zen?"

    Zen 8000 Pro
50GB usage allowance, Unlimited uploads, Buy more bandwidth for only £1 per GB.
11 Mailboxes (still more than enough) Global access to your E-mail with Zen Webmail, 2GB web space (a lot more)
Up to 8Mb download speeds, £34.99 per month plus £47 conection fee, 1month minimum contract
    - So TCO (for 9 months) is £361.91, thats £72.38 per person, (£8 per person per month.)

So thats why then! its nearly twice the price.

Right well, idnets 30gig/month limit seams a little shy, andwe cant really afford Zen, so seeing at f2s seam plasuably good, im still thinking that what we'll go for?
    - I just rang up there techhelp and sales numbers, got though to a real, understandable, person in about a minute for both. Sales seamed helpfull enough, advising us that it should set up within 5-10days, and that the router we have should be fine, and the line is likly to be able to support the full 8meg.

    Yeah, thats what i thought.
    - I was quite impressed, ive with BT, you ring up, and spend 20mins listening to them telling your there exprensinsing "unusally high call volumes" At 3.30 on a tuesday efternoon.
    - Where as today, i just rand up, welcome to F2S, a short prerecored message about possable outage for certain dialup users due to a large area power cut at the data center yesterday evening, then litteral 30 seconds i was though to a tech help.
    - First thing he asked was what was my telaphone no, at which point i had to admit i was really after sales, and just ringing to see if i would get though. But then there sales was, got a person almost instantly, and they where very helpfull to.

Will keep you posted. BT conect the line on the 11th of sept.
