Well it's not like hard drives are expensive now is it?
no.. i suppose so. me though i just couldnt be arsed to sit there and watch my torrents or whatever download lol
Torrents are not very bandwidth friendly as you "have" to upload what you have downloaded, if you dont you are considered as scum
I was with Zen and the 20gb cap, tried to manage my downloads and general internet usage but it turned out to be to difficult so I had to move to a ISP that didnt invoke bandwidth caps, if like me you use the internet "a lot" then you need to look at a "capless" ISP or contract.
Hope that helps.

My friend in Hong Kong have IPTV and the packet sniffer shows 550KB/s constant 7x24 as he never switch off the IPTV box
Btw he could flatline his 100Mbps at 20Mbps upload for 3 days PLUS the IPTV and the ISP don't say a thing (P.S. thats 2.5MB/s as he was backing up his whole system to his server in China). No one can / will do this with 256Kbps upload really. Once you have the bandwidth you have a LOT more things you can do.
And the most important thing is he only pays 13 quids a MONTH (can't remember how much the IPTV cost extra but its pretty cheap)
Regarding to online gaming, it DEPENDS on what gaming you mean. WoW and Lineage 2 probably only use 1K/s but CSS and BF2 will use a lot more as you are tracking up to 64 other players like every 20ms.
My 256kbps upload struggles on certain games with 32+ players where my ping goes through the roof due to upload saturation.

Since all the limits have come into play what with peak time and off peak I've had to change when I download to avoid going over peak limit.. But I can do 30gig easily in some months. Of course this varies during the year..
But if you don't download video too often and just do usual stuff you probably won't touch 20gig.
and to be fair, for the sake of 10 quid ill buy the film. i downloaded dodgeball once, it took about three days lol. then i watched it and deleted it coz i cba to have it taking up space. the way fowards is building a dvd collection u damn theives

The (perhaps not) amusing thing is the way we're all quite happy to accept relatively low limits as compared to other european countries - both in terms of speed and amount available (not to mention cost I suppose). The great British trait of 'ah well, that's just the way it is..'
I read somewhere that a symmetrical 100mb line (thats 100 upload and download, for those not in the know) was just over $30 a month in Tokyo, not much more in Korea and Sweden. You have to ask why BT cant even get to half that and still need draconian bandwidth limits.
BT cant even do this if you're willing to pay a highher price for it.
lol, we england supposed to be an advanced country and there you go sweeden are making us look like bangladesh. brilliant.
I'm just going to say - how far will 20gb take you with CS Updates, Gaming - 500+mb Demos etc... (Fear Multiplayer is nigh on 2gb)?
Upload speed bothers me more than bandwidth though. Try sending somone a few hundred meg .psd and you can wave good bye to your internet connection for a day or so.
