    help with wireless setup please

    Hi all
Got stuck on this and can't seem to get it to work.
main pc has xp pro on it with a linksys pci wireless card in it this is connected to a printer and internet.
I want to connect a laptop with xp home on it so that it can access the internet ,printer and all files(or a folder) on the pc.
    Any help?
    Thanks
    Robert

Have you tried the Internet Connection Sharing wizard?

You would need either a router (best way to go) or a wireless card in the laptop. Then you just need to set your wireless to Ad Hoc instead of Infrastructure in order to see the other PC (assuming XP works out what your doing, otherwise you would have to run the network setup wizard). If you go down the first route then everything is simple (relatively) and you won't need your desktop turned on for your laptop to be able to surf the net. Using the second method you would have to use the Internet Connection Sharing wizard as stated above to get it working (and have the main PC on in order for your Laptop to print / surf t'internet!).

Have you firewalled the wireless connection at either end, if so turn this off. Make sure that both wireless setups are broadcasting their SSID's and are on the same channel / set to Ad Hoc...

Also have a look at some of the tutorials on http://www.practicallynetworked.com

    They may well help you!
