    problem with internet connection

hi, hope some1 can help me, my ISP is Uk online and i connect to it with a D-Link G604T modem/router.

sometimes when i leave my PC on for a while, like overnight and use it later on the next day the internet stops working. if i connect to the router it would say that it is connected to the isp but neither IE or Firefox will display pages. like i said it doesnt happen all the time but is quite annoying. i heard its something to do with Denial Of Service bt not really sure.

to make it work again i have to restart the router. is there any way i can stop this from happenin? hope it makes sense

    thanks

It could be your ISP dropping your connection after being connected a long time (it's not uncommon) or alternatively your router could be configured to drop the connection after a certain period of time connected.

/me points finger at badly configured P2P application. Seriously, would it be BitTorrent at all? You need to reduce the number of connections it's making.

Just a thought. You may be saturating your 256Kbps uplink because you have too many concurrent connections open. If so your webpage requests get stuck in a queue behind all the outgoing bittorrent requests, causing timeouts. Try lowering the number of connections or better still check the settings and restricting your BT upload to 10Kbps
