    But that doesn't surprise me TBH. Since I have seen a lot of Cisco kit causing network problems with things like autonegotiation I'm guessing their IOS/CATOS isn't the best for everything.

    dell's switches are great, but their management UI breaks on $not_msie in my experience.

    I didn't know that. I'd love to hear more details. Some of the Dell switches have a less than great reputation for stability/reliability, and I haven't heard the same for Procurves. I also see that some Dells were equivalent to SMC / Accton switches. E.g.

    Lower-end Dells are Delta Networks Inc. products. E.g.

    And I don't see a clear correlation between say the Procurve 1800 series and the current Dell line.

    So I'd love to know where exactly the Dell switches intersect the Procurve switches.
