Hi all

I work on a ship and have internet. Now the problem is I can access the company sites no worries but sometimes I cannot access any outside sites.

The path is as follows ship - shore - encrypted Btline to London - encrypted line to Paris with fire wall - then back again.

I can ping Paris with no problems

is there a program I can ping pass the firewall to see what is happening beyond there ??

your company firewall is probably configured not to resposnd to PINGS.

It sounds like you are on an internal network, a LAN that is interconnected by a private WAN. I suspect there is a proxy server and or Content filtering in place to control who can go where.

Your first point of contact should be your IT Tech support. We don't allow anyone external internet access until they have signed the company Internet Security Policy.....
