Someone on Bit-Tech went on Masterchef the other week, and stated that even though the most disapointing part of his dish was the potatoes (and they told him this), when the show went on TV they didn't mention a second of it and cut the whole thing out. At the end of the day it's all up to the editors on how the show comes out at the end.
