They don't half grow up quick...

Isn't it amazing how the little ones progress speeds up once they've past the 6 months stage.

Hayden is nearly 8 months now ( in 7 days ) and she is getting more and more a live-wire like myself everyday.

So far she has developed a thing for football on TV. if football is on TV she'll happily sit and watch it and not make a peep, but as soon as its over, she's back to her giggling, screaming, daddy shouting mode.

She's also started going " raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar " in a really deep voice and then laughing when I ask where is daddy's little monster.

hayden also hardly sleeping during the day now having only a bit of sleep for 10-20 mins at a time and even at night she's only having a sleep from 11-7 but this is broken at the moment due to he teething with her top teeth.

She's has also mastered pulling herself up and standing. last night she perfected the sideways suffle along the front of the leather sofa, and now I fear its only a while before she starts to walk. She's already started to try to take steps forward when stood up, so its not long now before she is walking on her own and thats when the fun is really going to start.

Anyone else in the same boat at the moment and running around after their nipper removing xbox microphones from their mouth and things like that ?

Yup, something similar...except the culprit turned 16 a few days before xmas and is likely to be found shouting obcenities down an xbox mic...

Don't let her learn to talk!! it's the worst thing a child can do, or learn to spell! or type!!!.... Especially when they get to 16 years of age and send their parents ( IE Jon in this case! ) text messages claiming "Daddy!!!!! I pumped a lump! can you come and change me?????" He's not mine honestly!

Gunna have to keep an eye on you Lee, Sophie has just turned 8 months old and is at exactly the same stage. Couldn't agree more with how fast they grow up. Sophie has also got into the routine of sleeping through the night, but we have the teething issues as well. It does seem to come & go through.

She has also developed a real love of being swung around (like you'd hold a rugby ball), ending with her giggling & drooling like a mad thing. Cutest thing has to be first thing in the morning. When she wakes up she crawls around her cot playing with her toys/pushes her head up against the bars to see if we're awake, then standing up and chewing on the top bar waiting for us to lift her out of the cot!

As for the xbox mic, substitute that for my laptop/the power lead or any magazines. She goes after them like a bat after hell the minute i get one out.

Yep, Louise is 9 months and at that stage now. It's amazing how you just think you have babyproofed the room and then they prove to you that you really haven't. It's great to see her developing a little more each day as well.

She's just started saying muma, which is great, but she developed it earlier this week when she was really ill, so that was all i got when she was awake. Kept trying to pursuade her to go back to saying dada but she was having none of it!

it's scary how quick they learn.. but from 2 years old onwards its even more obvious... its rocket like.

Children learn more in the first five years of their life than they will ever learn over a lifetime. As they get older the rate of learning slowly decreases
