Back in my day my mum bought me a phone card to make sure I phoned home from University, I guess the modern equivalent would be mobile phone based. Hard to complain about that

That is a really good idea. I've seen those when we've been shopping, will have to get him one

Dundee have finally replied to say his application is being processed. So he's hopeful for Dundee.

    Definitely

He has been offered a conditional place at Dundee, they have also offered him a scholarship, so I think depending on his grades ( he needs two B's and an A) he will be going to Dundee to study Software engineering I think

    Re: Hitting Home.

Dundee is a good city for students. Good night life, good music scene, that kind of thing. Perhaps not the prettiest place in the country, but it does have a lot going for it.

I'm from Aberdeen, and that would have been an expensive education, it's a pricey city to live in.

I thought it looked beautiful from the pictures I saw. As for the Uni itself it's ranked high in the stats, so posh it may not look but if it's a good Uni then who cares what it looks like

I study at Glyndwr Uni. Now that is a tiphole

    Re: Hitting Home.

When questioned tonight about his choice his answer was "Dundee probably, dunno yet" and off he buggered back to his boudoir.

So I think he will choose Dundee. Dependant on his grades. He has a B in A Level ICT already, he started that at 15, along with his MOS Masters Accreditation, which he also achieved at 15. He's hoping for A* in Maths, he's sitting his AS Maths this year, because he wasn't happy with the B he got, and wants as high a mark as he can to go towards the overall mark. He's on target for A* in English and a B in Business so hopefully he will get the grades he needs.

    A talkative teenager

Still, I hope he gets the grades he needs to allow him to follow his chosen path.

Thank you He never has had much to say for himself lol. It will drive him to get the grades he needs I'm sure. Dundee was his first choice, and he's accepted their offer, but not after checking out how many girls were doing his course! he said "they all look like nerds Mum" Hmm

Dundee also has a BM Bargains, so he's even happier! it means supplies of his favourite Koka noodles and strawberry liquorice
