you read the instructions? lol
it has a map in the motherboard book, and if they dont work try turning them the other way round that changes the order of pos neg.
tbh trial and error takes about ten mins so if all else fails just try every plug in every hole untill you get it, easy way
The power button connector doesn't matter which way round it goes, as said already with the power led try it 1 way round and if the led doesn't light swap it round, won't damage anything so quite safe to do this via trial and error.
What motherboard are you having problems with ?
Main - Intel Core i5 2300 @ 3.5GHz, 8GB DDR3 1333Mhz RAM, Asus P8P67 Pro, Coolermaster iGreen 600w, GTX 480, Antec One Case
foxconn....p4xfa or something :S thats what it says on the mobo

cheers mate, going to download manual now
rofl you could have already done this to ten motherboards by now by just trying and seeing what did what i do it most days when we get machines that have no book.
what do you mean no luck ?
think about it for one second, its impossible that it didnt work. If you try every cable on every pin it WILL work when you figure out what goes where
nope, followed the manual i downloaded, and still no luck even then!
this is getting painfull.
Get the power switch plug it into the first two try and turn it on, if yes move onto the enxt sitch and the same, if it doesnt work try next two pins.
when you have tried all the pins and nothing works try it the opposite way round, this method CANNOT FAIL by common sense.
If nothing works then something is electrcally wrong with switchs/motherboard which is unlikely
