Finally ordered my rig, Overclocking hints?!

    Hey Guys,

After about a month of waiting for intel and pondering on parts I have finally ordered the spec below, cant wait for it to turn up on tuesday!:

    Core 2 E6600
    Asus P5N-E SLI NF650i SLi
520W Corsair HX Series Modular PSU
    2GB (2x1gb) Corsair Twinx XMS2, DDR2 PC-6400
    MSI 8600GT, PCI-E (x16), Mem 1400 MHz, GDDR2, GPU 540 MHz, 2x Dual Link DVI-I/HDTV

What do you guys think? Will I need any extra cooling to overclock.

Any tips for this set up?

    Brent

Are you planning to use the stock cooler?

You wont get that far if you are before temps start getting a bit high. Might need to purchase an extra cooler.

The arctic freezer 7 pro is a steal at £12 on scan. For a bit more the Zalman 9700LED is under £30 on ebuyer once google checkout is used.

You might also want to consider better thermal paste such as arctic silver 5 which will knock a few degrees off too.

The Thermalright Ultra-120 Exreme can be used fanless but if u want to Overclock then u wud need to attach a 120mm fan, u cud get a decent fan like a Yate Loon and it wud be pretty quiet. Thers also the Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro I think its called which is cheap but still performs really well.
