ASUS used to make really good boards, but they were a fair bit more expensive than others. They seem to have dropped the price in the last few years, but dropped the quality along with it. Now you're in a lucky (?) dip when you buy one of their boards.

The QuadGT is the best board I have had in ages.

Yes as always... jam tomorrow... there will always be a betterboard round the corner.

Question - how long to run Orthos to prove a configuration is stable. I have been trying for a lower CPU Core voltage to lower temps a bit (no pun...) so I wend down ran Orthos, got a quick failure, upped it one notch, a not so quick failure etc, with each increace reulting in a longer time to fail. A common setting for the E6700 seems to be 1.5250v which is where I started before going lower. 1.4850 looked promising, but failed after 2 and a bit houes, so up I went to 1.4950 and thought this was the sweet spot this morning when I got up and it had been running over 8 hours, but it must have seen me smile and errored shortly after.... Up another notch again I go. Is there anything else I should tweak?
Try to make each and every day the best it can be.

Which Ill be getting, and hopefully it will be stable at 500fsb, just those heatpipes are annoying.

Edit basically for me its 5~5hrs of orthos then about 2days of straight gaming to prove its stable.

Reading the oc forums like QuadGT Arrived (56k warning) tweaking nb vcore or FSB termination volts or their quadgt equivalent may help. in all honesty my overclocks have been done in a similar way to you.

I have found the easiest is to dial up auto vcore to get a target clock, then check in software what vcore shows, enter that in the bios. The bios value is always around 0.06 higher than what asus probe shows. On air if load temps were <62C peak i'd be happy. Usually these clocks have proven stable it's just temps that have been the issue.

personnally >12Hr is stable for me but you never can tell
    when that gremlin might strike
