logitech mouse question

I've just bought an oem logitech rechargeable desktop but the mouse is only an optical one and not so good for gaming.

I was just wondering if I bought the mx1000, could I use it's recharging dock to "talk" to the keyboard? Or would I need to plug in both recharging docks, one for the oem keyboard and one for the new mx1000 mouse?

Eh? That doesn't make any sense Optical mice are great for gaming.

It would depend on which 'engine' the respective things used - logitech have changed the wifi engine a couple of times. Only way to tell would be to try it an see I think.

you cant use wireless "technology" for gaming, its just not up to it.

How about getting a good wired mouse for gaming and using the wireless mouse you've got for everything else? As far as I know, you can even have both mice connected at once.

I have tried a lot of mice for gaming and the best ones are the 510/518 series by Logitech. All the wireless ones seem a bit laggy to me.

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately the mouse has to be wireless because of the distance my pc is from where I sit.

Optical mice are great for gaming however cordless ones can be laggy.

I have the MX518 and it's great. After 18 months of solid use I had a problem with my 1st one when the curser would start to float on it's own and Logitechs customer support was 2nd to none. My supplier (OCUK) said there was nothing wrong with it, but Logitech said they trusted their customers and sent me out a replacement right away. I did have to cut the lead and send them the old mouse's severed USB connector, but no big deal.

im afraid thats a bit of a generalisation without some form of evidence, otherwise its just an opinion.

I've had an MX1000 for over a year, and personally, I love it.

yep, im a mx1000 user and i adore it, used for heavy gaming & general PC use and i cant fault it at all. One of the best purchases i made.

Poor observation.
I have played and won in several Seasonal Cups on a well known gaming site using the MX700 and MX1000.

The Laser cordless mice (rather than optical cordless)are very good and very accurate.
