Mouse / Glass desk question.

I currently have a tired old Logitech Cordless Click!Plus mouse that i got as part of a keyboard/mouse combo thing (mx700 i think)..anyway, I have just changed to a glass desk and the mouse wont work, and I was going to buy a new mouse, but do any optical/lazer mice work on a clear glass surface?

I think it's time to change the mouse and get a mousemat, so what are a decent all rounders at the moment? (bit of gaming, lots of normal usage)

Seriously though, If that works ok on a glass desk, it looks just the job...might be able to shift those £20 dabs vouchers at last

edit: I dont suppose anyone knows if those mice work with an old logitech base unit, or if you can run a keyboard through the base unit on the new mouse?

got a SteelPad QcK from Scan and it fits the bill for me (more control in gaming, more comfy than my desk for other stuff)

erm, a cheap mouse mat (borrow from work?) and the std intelli mouses from MS do me fine (borrowed from work ) - total cost = £0 !

yeah but they isn't 1337 - a hyundai will 'do the job', but a zonda does it in style

borrowed? some poor soul is having to figure out the keyboard shortcuts until they can explain the sudden disappearance of there mouse?

They will run from the original mx700 bases, however, some of the extra buttons battery notification, and obviously charging dont work.

I find the keyboard is a lot less picky about where the thing sits, so i have the mouse cradle on the desk and the keyboard one tucked away behind. Youll also have trouble getting setpoint to recognise your keyboard, which will only be a problem if you want to use any of the programmable buttons (media keys still work)

My brother's got one of those MX Revolution things, I used it when I was over visiting him. It's a very natural-feeling mouse, very accurate too.
