    Its because of the excellent thermal properties of water, problem is it evaporates over time.

    True, but the marmite thing is just for comparison, I really hope no one ever uses it for real.

    not really, you need the stock heatsink to keep your warranty. i had to send my original one back when i rma'ed my 4200 x2. as long as you keep the original heatsink you have nothing to worry about. thats why when i see people selling theirs it makes me wonder if they know that they really need it for rma's. if your cpu is overheating then rma it to the supplier or amd. amd sent me mine back within 2 weeks.
