    A3 Printer

Looking for a new A3 printer.
Needs to be able to do borderless printing and be reliable, have had an Epson R1800 and its stopped feeding properly, it'll chuck sheets thru whenever it likes and went back to Epson, they swapped it for a refurb and its doing the same bloody thing and now they dont want to know.

    Budget of £350...

Whats it primary use going to be?

The Canon PIXMA iX5000 is quite good, but doesn't excel at photo prints.

I work for an printer repair place, and do alot of work for epson and there normally pretty good with warrentys, if you push they'll probobly give you another printer without much hassle.

They were the first time, there now down to blaming things other than the printer...

You mean they didn't question the quality of the paper the first time you rang up?

First time they werent bothered about anything, since they swapped the printer there going down the route of it not being there problem.
That said its my old mans printer so I know its running "copy" cartridges and probably cheap paper too...

    Re: A3 Printer

Well, I got the Canon iX5000 in the end, and just over a year later and its stopped feeding A3 paper thru properly...

Anyone know if theres a maintenance kit for these things or are we seriously looking at spending £350 a year on a new printer?

Phone Canon, I've had excellent experiences with their customer service.

    Re: A3 Printer

Well, with two Epson's and a Canon all doing that, it does seem a bit of a coincidence. I have two A3s and an A2 here, all Epson and all have lasted me years. Mind you, they don't get heavy use and I use high quality materials.
