by the looks of things, the Q6600s won't necessarily have G0 stepping unless they are labelled as energy efficient versions (seeing as OC have both)
It's unlikely that the G0 stepping will be widely available from the very start, after all the e-tailers have to clear their excess stocks out before they can sell the newer models. In fact, I'd go as far to say that anyone who is advertising ONLY G0 steppings, is probably one of those dodgy outfits that doesn't keep much, if anything, in stock and simply orders from a distributor as things get ordered...
Whats wrong with OcUK? What have they done? ... please inform me!
here's 10 pages you can have a read of

I think the G0 stepping is a concern - and some of the smaller e-tailers (less likely to stock these units) won't have them - so stick to the bigger guys.
Intel will have no doubt dropped the price at distribution, and etailers who have no clue may have bought them in after the price cut and these could be older steppings.
I guess one way to find out (and of course post up here) is to go to the etailer and simply look on the package :)
I've noticed that newegg over in america still has a $299 price for the Q6600. That's still $40 more than the original forecasted price cut. You reckon we'll see a further drop in the next couple of days?
The cheapest I've seen in UK so far is £166 at shopmagenta.com
But I've also emailed most online retailers and not a single one that was offering the lower price had the new 95W versions in stock yet. I also emailed OCuk about the pre-order and the simple reply I got was that they had no idea whatsoever when they would actually be in stock
Anyone from SCAN able to say how many of the non G0s they have in stock? Also any idea when they will recieve G0s?
I have just recieved my Q6600 from RL Supplies ( http://www.rlsupplies.co.uk/products....asp?id=228567 ).
A lot of people on this (and other) forums are talking about a G0 stepping. Does anyone actually have one of these processors and is the G0 stepping really all that relevant for a processor thats fast anyway?
I do not know how to tell what the steppings are on the one I have recieved but the markings on the processor are as follows:-
SL9UM MALAY
2.40GHZ/8M/1066/05B
L721A401
SL9UM Malay
SL9UM (B3)
SLACR (G0)
