      • Asus PK5 Premium (Maybe)
      • CPU:

    Question

I just received my PK5 Premium today, but now I'm having second thoughts. I plan on dual-booting Vista and XP (and Linux ). After reading this thread, I don't know whether to try it out or just RMA it back to Newegg and get the Deluxe. What would be the best course of action at this point?

    Thanks!

    Edit

I've actually decided to go with a Vista/Linux setup. Is it confirmed that the PK5 Premium doesn't work with Vista 32-Bit, or is it just bad luck on the part of this poster: (Ack! Can't post links yet!)

Re: ASUS PK5 to Deluxe or not ?

I'm also getting the Vista install freeze issue @ 0% with my P5K Premium.
    I think it's SATA HD - related.

Re: ASUS PK5 to Deluxe or not ?

I'm also having issues with the PK5 Premium. Will not let me install Vista 32. I do have WD Sata drive and Lite on Sata DVD.

The HDD and DVD install Vista on my old XP computer fine so it is not an issue with the drives. ASUS support said it was my memory so I replace crucial memory with Kingston. Same issue.
Not sure how to resolve. May have to just trade in for Delux.

On the newegg site there were no post when I bought it over week or so ago. Now eight post with 4 of the 8 having DOA board or SATA issue.

Why not get the Blitz, which has had excellent reviews?

Re: ASUS PK5 to Deluxe or not ?

OMG I sooo wish I had listened to you.... finally went for a Premium and was up stupid o'clock last night with install problems!!

I can't seem to find a delux board these days but I think that based on th evidence here from you all there is a definate issue with SATA. I am so annoyed with the whole thing, can anyone confirm that the p5k -E wifi is a OK??

    THanks all
