The moment my XFX 8800GTS XX exhibits similar behaviour, you can bet I'll be back here. But so far, I've had no troubles. Absolutely caning it by running Bioshock on highest detail without issues. Yet.

This was not an SLI issue

Also, everything I was talking about, I experienced in Windows XP related (I still haven't made the move to Vista yet). Although I do think the exact same problem existed for people with Vista. Basically, its a bunch of faulty 8800GTX's, so I think OS is probably irrelevant. As is SLI I suppose. A faulty card is a faulty card no matter how you use it. I think its probably very unlikely you can still buy a faulty version of the 8800GTX nowdays though -- unless you buy a used one from somewhere like Ebay. Which I highly recommend not doing, for this card atleast.

Yep! The conclusion is on the page before this one. I am going to update the first post so hopefully I can link it to the conclusion post.

From everything I learned about this problem, I think if you can run Bioshock for more than 20 minutes or so, then your card is perfect

The problem was just a bunch of faulty cards. (Maybe Nvidia's delivery guy stopped by the kitchen on his way to deliver them, and left them next to the microwave for a while....). Whatever caused it, it was a bunch of faulty cards, so if yours hasn't crashed so far, you can be pretty sure your card is not one of the faulty ones Enjoy it.
