8800GTX, as long as you have a nice hi res monitor to go with it.
Oh and BTW, Dirt has no decent multiplayer features.

Yeah, exactly.
I finally got an Xbox 360 when the Elite was released a few weeks back. I've found one of the coolest things about the 360 is the wireless controllers. Because of those, playing games on the 360 is just a bit too convenient. Just press one button on the controller, and a few seconds later the startup screen appears... and a lot of Forza races are 5-7 minutes long, which makes them perfect for filling ad breaks between movies
Graphics quality will always be better on a high-end PC... but in most homes, it's relatively difficult to make PC gaming as convenient as console gaming.
Another very cool thing is the 360 uses standard USB ports ( as opposed to the old Xbox ). I plugged a Logitech USB keyboard in, and voila! No more "typing via joystick". I haven't tried using keyboard and mouse for controlling games. I presume that wouldn't work, though.
Oh yeah... I didn't take Bioshock with my 360 because I wanted to play it on a PC for the better graphics. What I forgot, was the audio system hooked to my console is MUCH better than my computer audio system. I'm told the sound in Bioshock really helps create a scary atmosphere... so it's Bioshock on 360, for me.

i would say get a 8800gtx, the 360 is very bad in terms of reliablity, you can easily be one of those unlucky bunch that is on their 3rd or 4th xbox360 in less then a year, and with the 25 day wait and them sending you back a refurb, i will stay away from a 360, its just way too much hassle
a 8800gtx will be hassle free and you can play the best fps games on the PC, the only thing your missing out on are some racing games and sports games
yea its easy to hook up your pc to your sound system. heck you can easily hook it up to a tv too if you wanna play games via from your couch but like i said it depends if you realy love racing and sports games to justify getting a 360. but be prepared for the hassle you may get from a broken xbox 360
