Beginning to get pretty wierd, just clocked this while browsing ASUS Blitz Formula availability Conspiracy theory anyone
My conspiracy theory (thats all it is).
Asus didnt sell as many as they thought, due to the daft NB cooler, so they pulled it in anticipation of x38.
Or...
They werent selling too well, so they decided to put the word out that they had been discontinued, in the light of a few good reviews, then demand increases, so does the price, so does the profit, then it all starts again with the x38 Tiger woods super farce model that they forget to put the cpu socket on.
End of conspiracy theory.
Sounds very plausable.so they decided to put the word out that they had been discontinued, in the light of a few good reviews, then demand increases, so does the price, so does the profit,
Another theory :-
There are that many p5k variants, production planning screwed up & made the wrong ones:lol
Or maybe it was outperforming the x38 boards?
think i can clear this one up for you all
Blitz Formula and Blitz Extreme have both been killed off. On P35 Asus high end you will have the P5K Premium, P5K3 Deluxe, P5K64-WS and P5K-E.
Replacing the Blitz boards will be the Asus Maximus Formula and Extreme - these being on the X38, should be available on websites from Friday/Early next week.
Asus are also releasing 2 other X38 boards too presume a standard and a deluxe.
Answering the thread topic, commando is daft as it is on an old chipset, so yes P5K or try out the new X38 boards if you can wait till next week

maybe. From what i've seen there hasn't been any startlling leap in performance. In the end it's probably going to be like 965 v 975, only at this stage we don't have much knowledge of the wrinkles & tweaks available in the X38. IAt the end of the day it may be that x38 is just a better featured (pci-e wise ) than P35.Or maybe it was outperforming the x38 boards?
I have an ASUS Commando..... get an Abit QuadGT (I have one of those too!) it is WAY better.
Try to make each and every day the best it can be.
