    Is it absolutely necessary ??

    Hello everyone,

My first post. I wish to go to quad-4. May I ask please: Is it absolutely necessary to use water-cooling with a quad-4 system, particularly as I have no intention of over-clocking.

    regards

No, if you are'nt overclocking, you can use the stock cooler.

    And welcome to Hexus

if you have no intention of over-clocking, there is absolutely no need to water cool
even if you were overclocking, its still not necessary to get water cooling!

Re: Is it absolutely necessary ??

perhaps a little research by urself would be a start... but then again im sure intel give a stock AIR cooler with the quads because they all want the CPU to break within a day

Re: Is it absolutely necessary ??

Thank you iranu, I do not mind the odd bollicking from jackvdbuk, however I was under the impression that to ask ones queries in the forum is perhaps infinitely more helpful than wandering around the web seeking clues about something one knows little, or nothing about!

Re: Is it absolutely necessary ??

Artic cooler 7 is a cheap and good cooler to replace the stock cooler, which would keep temps down overclocking

Re: Is it absolutely necessary ??

Thank you for replying jackvdbuk, no need to apologise, each of us needs a kick-up-the-ar-e occasionally, myself probably more than most.

Thank you magatherium, when I upgrade I will not be overclocking.

    regards
