IS the other PCI-e slot 16x? And dioes it matter?
Mine are both x16 and they dont work which ever the card is in. Card works fine on another PC but this is the third asus mobo thats done the same.Originally Posted by Winkle

I have this problem too - and it seems to be cured by turning off the psu (completely) and leaving it alone for 1-2 mins. Usually powers up right away. I suspect the GTX too - it's a hateful card at times - but Shaithis may have a point as i've had to do that in the past with AGP cards. I'm not sure if i can swap the SLI slot i might try it. Once i've fixed the fact that one of the RAID 0 drives unmounts ocassionally (with windows running). ASUS again here.
As you say - windows is booting ya just can't see it!

This problem seems more widespread than i first thought, i'm hoping ebuyer do test, as they claimed my GPU was faulty, can't be arsed rma'ing the mobo.
The turn off PSU completely "fix" did work for me for a while, but eventually it just never posted a video signal.
Same for me....although I was taking the CMOS battery out as well........all this was on my P5WDH....but have never got the GTX to work in my Maximus Formula !

OK, tried the GTX in both slots and to no avail...
Given up trying to get the 8800GTX to work in my Maximus Formula....the 6200 works but cannot really handle Vista and thus the PC is all but unusable until my RMA replacemnt arrives, I guess

Waiting the BFG to get back to me with RMA details....their first email was lightning quick, but no response to my reply
Also got me a 6600GT lined up for purchase, which will hopefully tide me over.......
