The thing is, I think you are in a far stronger position. Havoc has AGP, so he can't just buy a better graphics card as there aren't any. It requires a new motherboard, which unless you can find one compatible with the old P4 and ram means a major update. The P4 is trot, so if you are going to go to the expense of a new mobo you might as well upgrade the CPU. It all gets costly.
Oh, in answer to your earlier question on how come lowering graphics resolution didn't improve the frame rate, that means that the graphics card was not being pushed at either resolution and that something else (generally the CPU) is the bottleneck.
we found the answer out after hours of fine tuning in the bios that the cpu is crap
thanks for a real answer but i will hopfully upgrade the CPU and GFX in easter to the new 45nm cpus and the 9800gtx so a cheap 1.60 ghz c2d will do just fine and the x1950 pro beats 7900gt (my 7800gs+ has a 7900gt core) in nearlly all reviews so it will be even better
7900GT AGP is a world different to 7900 PCI-E.
You cant even equate them.
The 7900GT PCI-E is alot quicker than the Bliss 7800GS+ AGP (7900 with PCI-E/AGP Bridge).
Its not the card as such thats slower. Its the way the card deals with the data. <-Not a good explanation sorry.
Honestly, if you get a 7900GS PCI-E card and rate it against the Bliss 7800GS+ the PCI-E card will hump it.
ok a few questions will a gefroce 7600gt GDDR3 256Mb be any better if not then can you give a lnk of the best GFX card can buy for £78 or less so far i got a X1950 pro 512Mb
PS DO NOT INCLUDE EBAY LINKS
thanks
