i have 2 q-tec psu's they're not bad, rails can be a bit iffy, they dont seem to like 9700 pro's though, neither would run if the 9700 pro was in the system.

i'd say they're okay for lower end systems, but you took the right road if your going to put a 9800 series in your system.

    Interestingly my Q-tec 550w powering an NF7-S v2.0, XP1700+ @11x200, 9500 Pro has better rails than my Antec 480W powering an NF7-S v2.0, XP2500+ @11x200, 9700 Pro (& it is older than the Antec).

Ok, it's official. The 2nd Q-Tec 550w is dead! First one is still going strong though, but i've lost trust in it so it'll be going soon..

i had a descussion with frosty and i was surprised when he said he was getting a 450w psu but then he explained so now i'm gettin' the same psu he got after i've been round to his house and checked it out.

what do you lot think is better (bare in mind i don't care about sound), an Xdream (2800+) or a aero 7 lite up to 3200+, whats better for my 2500+ barton.

also, has anyone ever used Akasa TIM-clean CPU & Heatsink Cleaner on a cpu or heatsink...how effective / potent is it??

I had a Qtec 550w claiming to be quiet. What arse. The thing would also run constantly hot increasing my system temp overall. no point having two fans in it.

QTEC are TRUST's other brand. you will notice there is no TUV sticker on them either, so chances are they are 400W PSUs (cheap at that), and by adding another fan for cooling they can pull more out of them.

    I ditched it ASAP.....
